Type of Walk: short but challenging walk through fields and woodlands with some livestock.

Parking:

Turn off the A3072 into Cadbury village. Follow the green sign 'Footpath to Cadbury Castle' follow the road down past the parish church which will be on your right. Two options for parking a) outside the church, then walk along the lane to the start of the path on your left (green dot on map) b) in the lay-by on Milk Hill (red dot on map).

Directions:

  1. From the lay-by walk straight up the hill to the path on the corner. This path is very muddy and quite steep in some places. The path becomes a track which takes you through a wood, you will see a farm gate on your right - take a look at the view! You will then find yourself in a field - follow the track up.
  2. There is a small wooden sign pointing you in the direction of Cadbury Castle. All dogs must be kept on a lead as sheep can be found along the walk. Head towards the gate at the top of the field, you will see an information board upon your arrival.
  3. You will immediately see the outer earthwork and you can't miss the view. As you walk around the site you will see a number of information boards about the history of the hillfort, highlighting what you can see e.g. Dartmoor and Exmoor.
  4. To return follow the track back down the hill.
