Crediton & The Creedy Valley

A lively market town with stunning views along the valley, overlapping Dartmoor with rail links to the North Devon Coast.

Crediton is a lively market town in the heart of Devon with a rich history.  It has a unique spiritual heritage as the birth place of St Boniface and home to the National Shrine of Saint Boniface as well as the grand Parish Church, which stands on the site of Devon’s first Saxon cathedral.

The Creedy Valley is surrounded by lush green fields and fringes the rugged landscape of Dartmoor.  Explore this beautiful region with ancient woodlands, iron-age places of worship and visit the many holy wells dotted throughout the surrounding villages.

With the Two Moors Way walking route and the Tarka railway line both cutting through this part of Devon, there are plenty of opportunities to hop on/off to enjoy countryside walks, pub lunches or stay in Crediton and visit the nearby North Devon coast, Okehampton Castle or Exeter City via train.
