Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life is a treasure trove of fascinating objects and quirky artefacts that weave incredible stories about the people who lived here. The museum explores life in this buzzing market town through its diverse collections - from the lace-making industry and John Heathcoat's influence on Tiverton, to agricultural heritage with extensive farming equipment and waggons, nostalgic home life displays, and the transport gallery featuring the GWR steam engine 1442, the 'Tivvy Bumper'.

The museum is family-friendly with plenty to keep curious minds and busy hands entertained - play stations and interactive elements throughout the galleries, ride-ons, dressing up stations, toys and games. Visitors can even stand on the footplate of the Tivvy Bumper!

Well-behaved dogs are welcome on a short lead - water bowls are available and many volunteers are dog lovers who keep treats on hand.

Tiverton Museum is regularly awarded the Trip Advisor Travellers' Choice award and voted Number 1 for Things to Do in Tiverton. Beyond the museum itself, the popular Talks and Walks programme explores the history and heritage of Mid Devon through guided walks and expert talks.
