St Boniface’s Well—also known as St Wynfrith’s Well or St Wynefred’s Well—is a historic holy well in Crediton, tucked into a quiet corner of one of the town’s public parks. It is dedicated to St Boniface, the English missionary born in Crediton who first served locally as a priest before embarking on his influential mission to Germany. There, he worked to convert Pagan tribes and became widely known as the Apostle of Germany. Today, he is also celebrated as the Patron Saint of Devon.

The well is conveniently located near Holy Cross Church and can be visited as part of the Boniface Heritage Trail, making it an easy and meaningful stop for those exploring Crediton’s spiritual and historical landmarks.
