Fursdon is one of Devon’s oldest family homes where the Fursdon family has lived for more than 765 years. This fascinating house has evolved from a modest cob dwelling to the elegant Georgian manor house you see today and is surrounded by stunning country views.

Join a relaxed and fascinating guided tour of the house and spend time in the family museum, which is updated with next exhibits every season, followed by a leisurely stroll around four acres of sensitively restored gardens and grounds. The peaceful Coach Hall tea-room serves delicious homemade cream teas and cake with views down the valley. Dogs on leads are welcome in the gardens and tea-room and there is an outdoor play area for children.

A charming holiday cottage is also available, and a number of special open days and events run throughout the year. Oliver and Emily Fursdon and their two children took over as the 24th generation of custodians at Fursdon in 2019. They warmly welcome visitors to their home.

Gardeners’ World and CPRE 2 for 1 card holders (including single visitor discount) are welcome for garden entry and Historic Houses members welcome for free entry to house and garden. Free entry to essential companions to both the house and garden.
